Your details and StudRank
StudRank only asks for personal details when you choose to send us something: an enquiry, a request to hide or query a figure, a sale to add, an animal’s price, or a request for email updates. This page says what we keep, why, and how to have it removed.
Who is responsible
The responsible party is Fyvie Enterprises (Pty) Ltd, registration 2021/451594/07, of Tregenna Farm, Bergville, 3350. The information officer is Bradley Fyvie, at bradfyvie@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
- Contact us: your name, email address and message — to answer you.
- Hide or query a figure: the contact details and reason you give, and any note — to check the request against society records and act on it.
- Submit sale results: the sale details and the contact you give — to add the sale and ask you about it if we need to.
- Report an animal’s price: the price, the contact you give, and any link or note you add — to check the price with you before it is published.
- Email updates for a stud: your email address and which updates you ticked — to send you those updates and nothing else.
Browsing the site needs no details at all, and we use no advertising or tracking scripts. If you vote in the fan competition we set one cookie, so that one device counts as one vote. It holds a random identifier — nothing about you, and nothing that can be traced back to a person — it expires a year after you last vote, and it is used nowhere else on the site.
Who sees it
Only StudRank’s operator. Your details are never published on the site, never sold and never shared for marketing. A price you report is published once we have confirmed it, like any other price; who reported it never is. Your details are stored with our hosting provider and, when we email you, pass through our email provider, only to run the site.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it: an enquiry or request until it has been dealt with and any follow-up is done, and email-update details until you ask to stop. For a reported price, your contact is deleted as soon as we have approved or declined the report; the price and any link or note you gave are kept, without your contact, as our record of where a published price came from. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your details
Email bradfyvie@gmail.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We aim to respond within seven days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Figures published about a stud come from public sale results. The one exception is a missing price, which may come from a reader’s report and is published only once StudRank has confirmed it. To query or withhold published figures, see About & corrections.
